Canadian French language Category A specialty channel Argent TV is devoted to business news and financial information. Argent television Montreal is owned and operated by TVA Group, a division of Quebecor Media. The television is the francophone complement of Business News Network.

A group of companies including Groupe TVA, Publications Transcontinental Inc. and BCE Media Inc. having shares 50.1%, 30% and19.9% respectively on November 24, 2000 was permitted a broadcasting license by the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) for a television called LCN Affaires, described as “a nationwide French-language specialty television service dedicated to business and personal finance. Before the Argent TV Montreal was commenced, Groupe TVA purchased the remaining shares from the other partners, thus making its ownership to 100%. Before long, thereafter, Argent was launched on February 21, 2005.
